This HR Business Partner role at Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation) supports the engineering division in Tokyo. The Platform Business Strategy HR team, currently with four members, is a strategic HR business partner team focused on a 1000-person engineering organization. This role offers significant autonomy in planning and executing initiatives, working closely with leadership and HR Centers of Excellence.
Role Involves:
- Providing strategic HR business partnership to VP-level executives.
- Developing and executing HR strategies to achieve departmental visions and strategies.
- Supporting organizational and talent-related decision-making critical to business growth.
- Collaborating with other HR teams to deliver HR initiatives, including organizational development, talent development and placement, career opportunities, and culture building.
- Implementing strategic talent management for the technology organization that builds PlayStation consoles, system software, and global user platforms.
- Supporting organizational planning and workforce plans.
- Executing initiatives to improve organizational vitality and people manager capabilities.
- Supporting succession planning for key positions.
- Consulting on performance management and development plans.
- Managing resource planning, including recruitment, transfers, and promotions.
- Managing talent development, retention initiatives, and processes.
- Analyzing employee engagement and implementing improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of HRBP experience and 12+ years of HR experience in a company with 1000+ employees.
- Knowledge and experience in at least two of the following areas: organizational planning, resource management, and talent management.
- Global project management experience.
- Data analysis skills using tools.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (e.g., TOEIC 800+, CEFR B2+).
- Ability to participate in meetings and create business emails in English.
