Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a System Software Engineer to join their team in Tokyo, Japan. This is an open position, meaning that candidates who apply will be considered for a variety of roles within the PlayStation development organization, specifically within the system software domain. The company develops everything in-house, from hardware to OS, server, client, and applications.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects related to user experience, functionality, and performance.
Role Involves:
- Developing applications, SDKs, kernels, device drivers, and firmware for the PlayStation platform.
- Developing applications for multiple platforms (PS5, PS4, Win, iOS, Android, Mac).
- Developing server functions, network infrastructure, and security/encryption features.
- Performing low-level development and optimization for hardware components such as GPUs and sound processors.
Requirements:
- Experience in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in C/C++.
- Experience with shader languages.
- Experience with low-level programming.
- Experience with kernel, driver, or SDK development.
- Experience with parallel processing programs using GPUs.
- Experience with audio signal processing.
- Experience with software development related to communication and network protocols.
- Experience with mobile app or PC application development.
