Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a skilled engineer to join their team in Tokyo, Japan, to develop secure communication modules for PlayStation consoles and game SDKs. The engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, implementation (coding), test design and execution (including CICD), documentation for release, user (including game developers) support, and bug fixes.

The role involves working on TLS/SSL and HTTP-related modules on PlayStation consoles, contributing to a global team that supports game developers worldwide. The position is primarily remote-based but also includes opportunities to participate in internal social events such as hackathons, promoting active communication among team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing TLS/SSL and HTTP-related modules for PlayStation consoles and game SDKs.
  • Handling all stages of the software development lifecycle.
  • Providing technical support to game developers worldwide.
  • Collaborating with global support teams.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of network security and cryptographic algorithms.
  • Experience with TLS/SSL (e.g., OpenSSL).
  • 5+ years of C/C++ development experience for commercial product development.
  • Experience in client-side network programming and multi-threaded programming in a client/server model.
  • Experience in developing digital devices.
  • Team development experience.
