Senior Search Engineer

Job Description

Perplexity is looking for a Senior Search Engineer to help shape the future of its search infrastructure. The company has experienced significant growth since launching its conversational answer engine and is seeking someone to contribute to its continued expansion.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and building large-scale infrastructure for crawling, ranking, and retrieval systems.
• Scaling and optimizing the search engine for maximum efficiency.
• Enhancing serving infrastructure to reduce costs and latency while maintaining 99.9% uptime.
• Training and evaluating ranking models, including LLMs.

Qualifications:

• Proven track record working with large-scale search and retrieval systems.
• Self-starter with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
• Minimum of 5 years of working on search-related projects.
• Deep understanding of search and retrieval systems.
