City Teaching Alliance is seeking a Resident Teacher to join their program in Baltimore, MD. This role offers aspiring teachers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and receive comprehensive training and certification.

City Teaching Alliance utilizes RippleMatch to identify exceptional candidates for their Resident program. The program is designed to address educational inequity by developing a pipeline of highly skilled teachers.

The selected candidate will be working for City Teaching Alliance.

Role Involves:

  • Co-teaching in urban classrooms under expert guidance.
  • Receiving regular feedback to develop teaching skills.
  • Earning a master’s degree from American University School of Education.
  • Managing their own classroom in the second year.
  • Obtaining dual teaching certifications.
  • Receiving 1:1 coaching and mentorship.

Requirements:

  • Earn an undergraduate degree by June 2025
  • A minimum 2.5 undergraduate GPA
  • Are a US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or DACA recipient
  • Passionate individual ready to become an effective teacher.
  • Open to all majors, no previous classroom experience required.
  • Experience working with students or mission-aligned organizations is a plus.
