Staff Backend Engineer - Device Security

Job Description

Verkada is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join its Device Security Team. This team plays a crucial role in ensuring the security of Verkada's physical security products. The engineer will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and scaling device security backend systems. They will also contribute to building and maintaining security infrastructure and researching and developing tooling to secure the firmware supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend systems design and experience with Go/Python microservices and AWS.Role involves:

• Designing, building, maintaining, and scaling device security backend systems.
• Building and maintaining security infrastructure.
• Researching & developing tooling for firmware supply chain security.
• Mentoring other engineers.

Requirements:

• 8+ years developing Go/Python microservices with AWS and participating in on-call.
• Strong knowledge of scalable fault-tolerant backend systems design.
• Working knowledge of technologies like temporal, k8s, docker, redis, dynamoDB, postgres, IAM, S3, kafka.
• Strong understanding and experience in systems architecture.
