Perplexity is seeking a Frontend Engineer to contribute to the future of search and information interaction. The candidate will join a small team focused on revolutionizing how users engage with the internet. Perplexity has experienced significant growth since launching its conversational answer engine and is backed by prominent technology investors.Role involves:

• Developing new user interfaces for Perplexity's evolving technologies & products.
• Working with and improving the components that form the foundation of Perplexity's frontend.
• Iterating closely with design to prototype, implement, and polish new features & enhancements.
• Optimizing streaming, rendering, and interaction performance.
• Creating accessible elements and user experiences.

Requirements:

• Experience with designing & shipping user-facing features in web applications.
• Understands state abstractions in large-scale codebases.
• Familiar with the quirks and qualities of CSS.
• Knowledgeable about design patterns & common user-experience flows.
• Passion for prototyping and creating accessible experiences.
• Can take ownership and work with a small, agile team.
• Takes pride in getting the details right and operates from empathy.
• 4+ years of industry experience.
• Can reference of prior work in shipped web applications.
