Marqeta is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join its Customer & Cardholder Experiences team. This role involves delivering innovative UIs and embeddable solutions to transform customer and cardholder experiences. The engineer will own and deliver projects aligned with quarterly goals, independently identifying solutions to ambiguous problems, and collaborating with team members and cross-functional partners. Marqeta embraces a Flexible First approach, allowing the role to be performed remotely within Vancouver or Ontario, Canada.
Responsibilities Include:
- Designing, building, testing, and continually improving Marqeta’s user interfaces and backend services.
- Defining and delivering well-scoped milestones for projects, potentially serving as a technical lead.
- Keeping customer needs in focus and utilizing input from product stakeholders to determine optimal technical solutions.
- Leveling up less-experienced team members through guidance and mentorship.
- Writing clear, efficient, and adaptable code with minimal bugs.
- Identifying gaps and proposing plans for addressing them.
- Challenging the status quo and generating innovative ideas.
Requirements Include:
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of backend experience in Java.
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWTs, and user session management.
- Experience in developing applications with modern Java backend stack using Spring Boot and Kubernetes on AWS.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Javascript and Node.js.
- Experience developing scalable microservices on cloud platforms like AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
