Marqeta is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to resilient and sustainable software projects from design to rollout. The engineer will work within the Disputes Engineering Team, responsible for building automations, integrations, and tools that support managing payments disputes. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely within Toronto, ON, or Vancouver, BC, Canada.
The Role Involves:
- Independently developing and delivering bug-free code.
- Decomposing problems into solutions involving multiple software components.
- Owning small features and contributing to larger features.
- Contributing to test development and bug fixing.
- Participating in team processes and improvements.
- Ensuring secure and compliant products.
- Contributing to a positive team environment.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of full-stack engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree or an advanced degree.
- Experience developing in Java.
- Experience developing frontend applications with Javascript framework (React preferred).
- Ability to analyze data across various systems and leverage SQL.
- Ability to develop clean, readable, and error-free code with thorough documentation and testing.
- Ability to understand existing designs and make adjustments when necessary.
- Strong communication skills.
- Humility, empathy, and receptiveness to feedback.
- Desire to grow, learn, and share ideas.
- Ability to work productively on cross-functional teams.
