Marqeta is seeking a Senior Security Engineer with cryptography and key management experience to join their team in Canada. This role involves contributing to cloud data security, enhancing encryption and key management initiatives, and assisting in PKI and certificate management strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of data security architecture and strategies.
  • Define and implement encryption and secrets management standards.
  • Deploy and manage cloud-based Key Management Services (KMS) and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
  • Maintain and improve Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools.
  • Provide operational support and ensure security compliance across systems.
  • Document procedures and help ensure alignment with industry standards.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a Master’s, or 2 years with a PhD, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in PKI, crypto algorithms and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
  • 3+ years of experience as a data security engineer, maintaining critical encryption and key management systems across cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing architectures and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
