Job Description

Lightspeed is seeking a talented Senior Backend Developer to join one of its dynamic teams in Montreal. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and development of the hospitality product group, helping Lightspeed expand into new markets and strengthen its comprehensive commerce platform. This role focuses on building an advanced and modular framework for users and permissions, empowering multi-location merchants to easily manage their businesses.

The Senior Backend Developer will collaborate with industry experts to enhance the omni-channel product, contribute to the AWS-hosted microservices platform, and balance new feature development with existing partner integrations. They will report to the Development Team Lead and work closely with product managers, product designers, and platform teams. Participation in daily agile ceremonies, innovation, and code quality advocacy are key aspects of this role. The candidate will also foster growth within the team by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with industry experts to enhance the omni-channel product.

Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of Java with 5+ years of production experience.
• Expert knowledge of the Spring framework.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in English.
