UNiDAYS is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to join their growing legal team. The successful candidate will work closely with global teams across marketing, commercial, procurement, and legal functions, advising on a range of issues including data protection, regulatory compliance, and strategic contracting. This role is ideal for a UK-qualified lawyer with experience with global online services who can effectively manage a variety of needs in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including marketing, vendor, and partnership agreements.
- Advise on compliance with consumer, advertising, and online platform legislation across the UK, EMEA, India, Australia, and the US.
- Assist in the review of new products and features to ensure alignment with legal standards and guidelines.
- Maintain the Business’s IP portfolio.
- Assist the Fraud team in identifying and resolving causes of fraudulent use of the services.
- Develop and implement marketing compliance policies and procedures.
- Provide legal guidance on market entry strategies, including regulatory requirements and compliance with local laws.
- Provide counsel on data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.
- Investigate and resolve legal issues arising from member complaints.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to build awareness and guide them on data privacy, regulatory requirements, and ESG compliance.
Requirements:
- Qualified to practice law in England and Wales with 7+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong experience in contract negotiation and drafting.
- Extensive experience advising on marketing compliance, advertising regulations, and data privacy matters.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks in key regions, including the UK, EMEA, India, ANZ, and US.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Deep expertise in EU and UK regulations, data privacy, and rules governing ESG.
- Highly organised, proactive, and self-motivated.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
- Accountable with a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, discretion and judgement.
- Startup mentality.
