Job Description

PayPay Card Corporation, established in 2021, aims to provide accessible FinTech services by integrating with the PayPay payment platform. They are seeking a Backend Engineer to build and rebuild scalable and maintainable services. The engineer will contribute to revolutionizing the credit card industry by enhancing the user experience and re-architecting systems.

The role involves collaborating with product managers and frontend engineers to design, implement, and deliver large-scale systems. The engineer will leverage infrastructure to solve large-scale problems, share knowledge, participate in code reviews, and provide feedback. They will also triage, debug, and resolve product issues, identify root causes, and support code in production.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, implementation and delivery of large scale, and complex, systems.
  • Understand how to leverage infrastructure to solve large scale problems.
  • Contribute to the team by sharing knowledge, participating in code reviews and providing feedback.
  • Triage, debug and resolve product issues or other incoming troubles inquiries.
  • Adopt problem solving as a way of life – always go to the root cause!
  • Support the code you write in production.

Requirements:

  • Skills in OOP language such as C# or other JVM language, such as Scala are welcome
  • Experience with RDBMS, NoSQL databases along with distributed cache.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms and object oriented programming.
  • In-depth understanding of concurrency and distributed computing.
  • Experience implementing platform components such as RESTful APIs, Pub/Sub Systems, and Database Clients.
  • Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience designing high traffic systems.
  • Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or 3+ years equivalent experience in SaaS platform development.
  • English business proficiency
