Senior Backend Engineer

Job Description

PayPay Card Corporation, established in 2021, aims to provide accessible FinTech services by integrating with the PayPay payment platform. They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and rebuild robust services with a focus on scalability and maintainability. The role involves revolutionizing the credit card industry by enhancing the user experience and re-architecting systems.

The Senior Backend Engineer will design, support the implementation, and deliver large-scale systems. They will manage stakeholders, leverage infrastructure, and act as a gatekeeper to the team's quality standards. Additionally, they will triage, debug, and resolve product issues, mentor team members, and safeguard quality standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing, supporting the implementation, and delivering large-scale, complex systems
• Managing teams stakeholders such as product managers or frontend engineers but also other team leads or non-tech stakeholders.
• Leveraging the infrastructure to solve such large scale problems.
• Acting as a gatekeeper to the team quality standard
• Triaging, debugging and resolving product issues or other incoming inquiries
• Mentoring other team members and saveguarding the team quality standards

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in any OOP based language e.g Kotlin, Java, C#, Scala etc.
• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases, along with distributed cache.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms and object oriented programming.
• In-depth understanding of concurrency and distributed computing.
• Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or 5+ years equivalent experience in SaaS platform development.
• English business proficiency
