PayPay Card is seeking an Engineering Manager to drive innovation in the credit card industry and enhance user payment experiences. This role involves strategically improving the technical and organizational capabilities of the backend engineering team. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies to enhance product quality, productivity, and performance, while also fostering a strong engineering culture.

The Engineering Manager will collaborate with diverse stakeholders to define architectural roadmaps, optimize development processes, and support the growth of engineers through mentorship and performance evaluations. This position requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a commitment to creating a scalable and reliable system that supports PayPay's ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and promoting strategies to improve the technical and organizational capabilities of the backend engineering team.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define architectural roadmaps.
  • Optimizing product quality, productivity, and performance.
  • Supporting engineer skill development and fostering a positive engineering culture.
  • Ensuring timely and high-performance commitments from the engineering organization.
  • Improving development, delivery, and developer experience.
  • Creating mechanisms for healthy organizational growth.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a system development organization.
  • Minimum of 3 years of development experience in backend or frontend systems.
  • Experience leading scalable architectures and system design.
  • Experience leading and supporting the growth of strategic engineering talent.
  • Negotiation and coordination skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Business-level English proficiency.
