PayPay Card is seeking an Engineering Manager to drive innovation within its engineering organization. This role involves strategic planning and hands-on involvement to enhance the technical and organizational capabilities of the engineering teams.
The Engineering Manager will collaborate with diverse stakeholders to define architectural roadmaps, optimize product quality, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. They will support engineers through coaching, performance evaluations, and by addressing obstacles to productivity.
Responsibilities include:
- Strategic planning and execution for organizational growth
- Roadmap creation for architecture and organization in collaboration with stakeholders
- Designing and implementing strategies to optimize product quality, productivity, and performance
- Supporting engineer skill development and fostering a positive organizational culture
- Optimizing engineer performance through task management and addressing organizational challenges
- Facilitating engineer growth through effective 1-on-1s and performance evaluations
- Identifying and resolving processes, tools, and systems that hinder development and developer experience
- Supporting stable development through optimal development process design and review
- Supporting organizational and engineer growth through opportunities and change management
- Identifying and resolving inefficient work processes and communication issues
- Supporting the resolution of architectural challenges and concerns
- Supporting optimal talent acquisition and assignment by designing and involving in engineer recruitment strategies
Requirements:
- 2+ years of management experience in a system development organization
- 3+ years of development experience in backend or frontend
- Experience leading scalable architectures and system design
- Experience leading and supporting the growth of strategic engineering talent
- Negotiation and coordination skills with diverse stakeholders
- Business-level English proficiency
