Staff Solutions Architect [REMOTE] at Upbound - Job Posting

Upbound is seeking a Staff Solutions Architect to join their go-to-market team. This role is focused on the post-sales implementation of Upbound's products and the adoption of solutions. The Staff Solutions Architect will leverage their expertise in cloud-native solutions based on Kubernetes to drive the technical implementation of Upbound's offerings, build strong relationships with customers, and ensure the successful delivery and adoption of products.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the cloud-native landscape and helping customers succeed with Upbound's innovative solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Partnering with the pre-sales team to transition customers smoothly to post-sales implementation.
• Understanding customer environments, identifying platform needs, and designing suitable architectures.
• Ensuring the successful adoption of Upbound and Crossplane technology in customer production environments.
• Conducting technical discovery, scoping engagements, and contributing to Statements of Work.
• Troubleshooting and solving technical challenges related to Crossplane and Upbound Cloud deployments.
• Writing code, fixing bugs, and building features within Upbound products and the Crossplane core.
• Maintaining cloud-native reference platforms to accelerate adoption.
• Collaborating cross-departmentally to address complex scenarios and integration issues.
• Serving as the technical voice of Upbound, representing customer needs to influence the product roadmap.
• Advising customers on ongoing technical solutions as the product suite evolves.

Requirements include:

• Experience writing and maintaining code that interfaces with the Kubernetes API.
• Experience managing production Kubernetes deployments.
• A background in platform engineering/SRE with building an IDP (Internal Developer Portal).
• Deep understanding of highly scaled and reliable services in major cloud providers.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and business teams.
• Experience troubleshooting and solving complex technical issues for customers.
• Experience deploying and integrating projects of the Cloud Native Landscape.
• Proficiency in modern operational and application delivery tools, such as Terraform, CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps.
• Programming skills in a modern language (Go is ideal).
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
