Associate Director M&A at Nielen Schuman

Nielen Schuman is seeking an Associate Director M&A to join their growing team in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, entrepreneurial, and driven to contribute to a leading Benelux corporate finance advisory franchise. This role offers the opportunity to immediately integrate into the team and lead day-to-day deal execution, working closely with senior dealmakers and client executives.

The Associate Director will play a pivotal role in all phases of deal sourcing and transaction execution, from origination and valuation to due diligence and negotiation. They will also mentor junior team members and build relationships with clients and advisors.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting clients in sell-side, buy-side, strategic, and capital raising situations
• Overseeing business and market analyses, including financial and valuation models
• Managing the preparation of client presentations and process-related documents
• Coordinating project deliverables, due diligence, and information requests
• Preparing for and participating in origination meetings and negotiations
• Mentoring associates and working collaboratively with peers
• Building and maintaining an external network
• Driving initiatives aimed at building a leading Benelux corporate finance advisory franchise

Requirements:

• A Master’s degree
• 5-9 years of experience in corporate finance or investment banking, preferably in M&A
• Native Dutch and strong command of written and verbal English
• Excellent analytical, project management, team management, and interpersonal skills
• An entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative mentality
• A strong command of valuation methodologies, accounting principles, and Excel modeling
