Job Description
Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking an On-Call Archaeological Field Technicians. This role involves supporting field projects in Northern California.ESA's Archaeological Field Technicians will become part of a close-knit team of environmental professionals.
Responsibilities: - Monitoring construction activities and identify archaeological and/or paleontological resources
- Effectively communicating with construction crews and project personnel
- Writing and maintaining written daily survey, monitoring, recordation, and cataloging logs, including utilizing electronic data collection tools and GIS mapping applications
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree or higher in archaeology/anthropology/paleontology or related field
- Experience in archaeological and/or paleontological monitoring, surveys, and documentation
- Ability to use app-based software for field recordation and mapping
- Familiarity with working on active construction sites and completing DPR forms
- Knowledgeable of archaeological materials common to the region
- Minimum of six months of field experience or relative academic field experience in Northern California
- Ability to work outside and walk long distances carrying up to 50 lbs of gear in various conditions
- Ability to work some nights and/or weekends
- Valid driver’s license and experience driving 4-wheel drive vehicles off-road
