Job Description
Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking On-Call Archaeological Field Technicians in the Northwest Region. The role involves archaeological monitoring, surveys, and documentation of archaeological resources. The candidate will work on active construction sites, coordinating with construction personnel, and interacting with Native American monitors. Successful candidates will:
  • Monitor construction activities and identify archaeological resources.
  • Effectively communicate with construction crews and project personnel.
  • Write and maintain written daily surveys, monitoring, recordation, and cataloging logs, including utilizing electronic data collection tools and GIS mapping applications.
Requirements include:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in archaeology/anthropology or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to use app-based software for field recordation and mapping.
  • Familiarity with working on active construction sites and knowledge of archaeological materials common to the region.
  • A minimum of six months of field experience or relative academic field experience in the Northwest Region.
  • Ability to walk long distances carrying a backpack and lift at least 40 pounds.
