Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer to lead its coastal engineering practice in Northern California. The ideal candidate will have 20+ years of experience, a passion for coastal processes and engineering with nature, and the desire to lead and mentor a team.

Role Involves:

  • Planning, designing, and managing coastal engineering projects.
  • Contributing to strategic planning.
  • Cultivating best practices and providing technical training.
  • Managing workflow and making staffing recommendations.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements:

  • Professionally licensed coastal engineer with 20+ years of experience.
  • Experience designing and managing coastal engineering projects with an emphasis on nature-based solutions.
  • Familiarity with engineering steps from concept to construction bid package.
  • Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in coastal engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineers license in California, Washington, and/or Oregon.
