Zafin is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Site Reliability Engineer II to enhance the reliability, scalability, and performance of their cloud infrastructure and applications. The role is based in Ottawa, Canada, and reports to the VP of Cloud Services. The ideal candidate will lead strategic initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and drive innovation to meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and resolve complex technical issues related to Zafin’s products and Azure cloud environment.
  • Design and implement strategic enhancements to improve system reliability.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for high-severity incidents and prevent recurrence.
  • Represent Zafin in client escalation calls, offering expert solutions.
  • Architect and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership in managing container orchestration platforms like AKS and OpenShift.
  • Oversee advanced monitoring solutions and integrate predictive analytics.
  • Develop automation strategies to streamline operational workflows.
  • Maintain documentation of cloud architectures and incident management strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Drive strategic initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience in cloud support, operations, or a related role.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure (preferred) or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Experience in designing and scaling container orchestration systems like AKS or OpenShift.
  • Leadership in managing automated deployment pipelines, including Azure DevOps.
  • Mastery in enterprise monitoring platforms (e.g., Azure Insights, Grafana) and predictive analytics tools.
  • Advanced scripting skills with PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
  • Extensive experience in incident management and defining SLAs.
  • In-depth knowledge of database management, particularly Postgres.
