Job Description
Mission Fields is seeking a Ranch Hand to support the daily operations of its ranch in San Luis Obispo. The Ranch Hand will be responsible for a variety of tasks, ensuring the smooth functioning and upkeep of the ranch. Mission Fields is an equal opportunity employer. - Landscaping: weed whacking, mowing, using a tractor and lawn mower, disking, scraping roads, weed spraying and squirrel control.
- Assisting with building and construction projects such as water and power infrastructure, barns, horse stalls and riding arenas.
- Performing periodic checks and maintenance on infrastructure and utilities.
- Feeding and caring for horses, dogs, chickens, etc., and maintaining the cleanliness of animal areas.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of ranch facilities.
- Assisting with assembling and installing exterior seasonal decorations.
- Washing and maintaining ranch vehicles and equipment.
- Assisting with emergency or last-minute situations.
Requirements:
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Ability to operate ranch vehicles and trailers, and a forklift.
- Ability to work safely alone.
- Previous experience caring for animals, including horses.
- Intermediate hand and power tool experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to situations.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
What Mission Fields offers:
- Pay Scale $20 to 25 hourly
