Job Description
One Acre Fund is seeking a Global Procurement Associate to manage local procurement operations and teams across four country programs. One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive. The Global Procurement teams handle over $10M in spend each year across over 10,000 transactions and purchase operational goods and service on behalf of over 1M smallholder farmers. The ideal candidate will increase impact via operational excellence and enriching strategic projects, managing Procurement teams in Burundi, Uganda, Zambia, and Malawi. This role reports to the Global Non Ag Procurement Manager and involves leading local initiatives to efficiently source operational goods and services.
Role involves:
- Serving OAF departments with on time, cost competitive and high-quality goods and services through strategic sourcing, and innovative procurement techniques.
- Creating a culture of cost-saving across the Procurement team and its partners.
- Saving over 5% on purchases every year across the value chain.
- Empowering each country PRO team to work in an efficient & compliant manner.
- Owning the horizontal process for performance reporting, demand forecasting, and inventory management across all country teams.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree
- 3-5 years experience in supply chain or in a related field
- Project management skills
- Experience managing operations of medium to high complexity
- 3+ years of managing medium to large teams.
- Demonstrated skills in data analysis for business decision-making
- Language skills - English (required), French (strongly preferred)
- Willingness to travel within our countries of operation
