Revenue Cycle Specialist at Author Health

Author Health is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist to manage revenue cycle tasks and improve cash flow. The Revenue Cycle Specialist will work with Author Health Professionals, PC, and its partners in coding and revenue cycle management.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing coded visit notes and submitting them to the PMS.
• Completing tasks in Candid assigned to Author Health Professionals, PC.
• Handling A/R follow-up, appeals, and claim disputes in Candid.
• Reviewing recoupment requests in Availity and resolving them.
• Importing remittances received in Candid and correcting posting issues.
• Monitoring pre- and post-payment medical records requests in Availity and completing them.
• Serving as the subject matter expert for all coding, billing, and collections processes.

Requirements include:

• Thorough understanding of medical billing, collections, payment posting, revenue cycle, third-party payers, and Medicare.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes, claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, insurance benefits, and appeal processes.
• Proficiency with EMR software, Excel, Google Sheets, and clearinghouse portals.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience with professional billing in a medical practice (non-facility based).
• Experience with claims processing from charge entry to claim closure, including billing, collections, denials, and appeals.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and practice management is required.
• Ability to deal with patients and staff with tact and diplomacy.
