Job Description
Arcesium is seeking a Principal Engineer to join its Infrastructure Development team. The role involves working on internal projects and supporting Engineering Managers, contributing to the company's strategic goals and growth.The Infrastructure Development team manages areas such as Access & Identity Management, Linux Compute, Discovery, Networking, Observability, SDLC, and Storage, built on AWS. This engineering team focuses on building new services, automating systems, integrating cloud & open-source software, and operating vital systems based on the firm's needs.
What this role involves: - Helping build the next generation of IT infrastructure, such as containers using Docker & Kubernetes.
- Creating, consulting on, and reviewing architectural decisions for infrastructure projects.
- Building and maintaining the firm’s critical IT infrastructure, including Linux, Windows, Git, DNS, Kerberos, and more.
- Safeguarding the firm’s and its customers’ data.
- Minimizing the risk of system failures and ensuring controls are in place.
- Collaborating with internal teams to develop messaging for senior stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Communicating with all stakeholders, preparing project plans, and conducting regular governance meetings.
Requirements: - 10-20 years of experience in system administration/software engineering.
- Strong programming experience in Python/C/Go/Haskell.
- Good knowledge of Unix systems, web technologies, and AWS.
- Experience with tools and processes for managing, understanding, and debugging large systems.
- Attention to detail and quality, with the ability to work well in teams.
- Self-motivation and independent thinking, combined with being a team player.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables.
