Principal Distributed Systems Engineer

Job Description

Arcesium is seeking a Principal Distributed Systems Engineer to build next-generation technology for sophisticated hedge funds. The role involves designing new products with distributed systems technologies and leading high-visibility engineering efforts on data-intensive core components.

Responsibilities include:
• Building next generation technology
• Designing new products using distributed systems
• Leading engineering efforts on core components

Requirements include:
• Strong academic background in computer science
• 3-5 years of software engineering experience
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming technology
• Experience with Distributed cache/in memory data grids like Redis, Hazelcast, Ignite, or Memcached
• Experience with Columnar databases like Cassandra or HBase
• Experience with Hadoop MapReduce, Spark or Flink
• Proficiency in Java (or any JVM language), Go, Haskell, or C#
• Experience with Relational Databases (SQL)
