Cloud Engineer (gn) Observability & FinOps at The Quality Group

The Quality Group (TQG) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to play a central role in advancing its cloud environment, focusing on FinOps and Observability. The Cloud Engineer optimizes transparency and cost control in TQG's AWS and Azure platforms. This role works independently within a team to set new standards for the FinOps and Observability setup.

Role involves:

• Developing and optimizing the FinOps strategy with a focus on cloud cost control, tagging strategies, dashboards, and reporting.
• Advancing the Datadog platform as a central monitoring and observability solution.
• Automating and optimizing monitoring processes and integrating new features and best practices.
• Creating and maintaining standards for cost control and observability and supporting other teams through enablement.
• Collaborating with development teams to understand and optimally implement monitoring platform requirements.
• Identifying cost and optimization potentials in our cloud environments and supporting development teams in independent implementation.
• Participating in the further development of our cloud platform and supporting cross-functional technical initiatives.

Requirements:

• Experience in Cloud-Engineering with focus on FinOps and Observability
• Deep understanding for the implementation, optimization and management of AWS- and Azure-Cloud-Environments
• Experience with Terraform as Infrastructure-as-Code-Tool
• Experience with Datadog as primaires Monitoring-Tool – alternativ experience with solutions like Elastic or OpenTelemetry
• Knowledge of FinOps-Practises for optimization of Cloud-Costs and Resourcemanagement
