Author Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join their team of difference makers. Author Health is dedicated to providing home-based care to seniors battling serious mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The Certified Medical Assistant will work as part of a multidisciplinary care team to deliver virtual-first coordinated care.Role involves:
- Initiating virtual appointments to collect patient health information.
- Participating in daily interdisciplinary huddles and contributing to treatment plans.
- Coordinating treatment with the patient, family, and multidisciplinary care team.
- Supporting staff in tasks such as vital sign collection and recording.
- Processing incoming and outgoing calls using sound clinical judgment.
- Graduate and completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a medical setting or one year in a behavioral health setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish or English-Haitian Creole) preferred.
- Ability to understand medical/behavioral health/mental health terminology.
- Must have access to a HIPAA compliant, distraction free area.
- Ability to drive and the ability to use a computer.
