Job Description

Beast Industries is seeking a Digital Data Archiving Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of a multi-tiered data storage and backup strategy. The ideal candidate will work closely with the post-production team to develop workflows for archiving, automating data movement, and ensuring long-term storage reliability and accessibility. This role requires a deep understanding of data storage technologies, backup solutions, and system automation, combined with a strong background in IT systems and networking.What this role involves:

• Designing and implementing a multi-tier data storage system.
• Developing automation tools and scripts to streamline data transfer.
• Establishing a reliable backup strategy.
• Overseeing the integration of storage systems with existing IT infrastructure.
• Collaborating with post-production and IT teams.
• Providing training and support to staff.
• Optimizing network settings to support video editing operations.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of the storage architecture.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in post-production workflow.
• Hands-on experience with servers, fiber cables, switches, video hardware, PC’s and Mac peripherals.
• Proven experience in network configuration, packet analysis, and performance optimization.
• Ability to identify potential issues early and develop effective solutions.
• Experience setting up and managing monitoring and reporting systems for video archiving.
• Experience in developing and implementing new capabilities in video archiving.
• Highly organized and meticulous.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• A proactive approach to improving processes and systems.
• Experience in video production or post-production workflows.
• Knowledge of file formats and codecs commonly used in media production.
• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS, CompTIA Storage+, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in managing data storage and archival systems, preferably in a media or video production environment.
• Expertise in storage server technologies, including SNS EVO or similar systems.
• Familiarity with cloud storage platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and tape backup systems (e.g., LTO).
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, including networking, servers, and data management.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Javascript, Bash).
• Familiarity with container technologies (e.g., Docker)
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI-driven video processing tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
