Prop and Set Fabrication Lead

Job Description

MrBeast is seeking a Prop and Set Fabrication Lead to join their art department. This role involves supervising and coordinating set construction activities, both on and off-site, for assigned videos. The Team Lead will collaborate with production, camera, and creative departments to provide cost and time estimates, conduct feasibility studies, and ensure all sets meet safety standards. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, a strong creative vision, and the ability to maturely process criticism.Responsibilities include:

• Providing cost estimates
• Supervising set construction timeline and communicating it to crews and vendors
• Executing on production notes/specifications and collaborating with the Set Architect to design the layout and look of the set and props
• Delegating tasks, developing time schedules, and ordering required materials for builds
• Managing construction efforts on one or more projects which can be large and complex
• Researching specific design details and incorporating these into the set
• Producing mockups for the director’s approval and implementing changes as required
• Performing quality assurance on all aspects of the set
• Performing day-to-day decision making for construction activities within scope
• Knowing when to elevate issues requiring executive leadership direction
• Acting as point of contact to all construction vendors and contractors on a daily basis
• Briefing crew and cast on set safety and also explaining how the set operates
• Daily progress reports and check-ins with Set Architect

Requirements:

• 4+ years of outside job related experience in Commercial/Residential Construction Management, Fabrication Specialist, Large Scale Set Design/Construction, or Custom Carpentry
• Ability to lead a project team
• Ability to manage through conflict, complexity and to problem-solve issues to resolution
• Ability to direct, adapt to change, establish relationships, collaborate, build consensus and anticipate roadblocks
• Excellent creative intelligence and exemplary time and stress management skills
• Must be able to commit and be flexible on long hours
• A good eye for detail (creative and analytical) and the ability to generate many ideas
• Strong team mindset is key
