Apparel Designer - Activewear (Nova Sport)

Job Description

Fashion Nova is seeking an Activewear Designer to join their team and drive the creation and management of the women's Nova Sport category. The ideal candidate will possess an innovative and adaptable approach to design, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of customer needs. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional partners and mentoring CAD designers. The Activewear Designer's responsibilities include:

• Staying informed on new industry techniques and resources.
• Designing brand-appropriate fashion.
• Hand-sketching ideas and leading CAD Designers.
• Overseeing line sheet management.
• Innovating and partnering with PD teams on new developments.
• Directing fittings and partnering with technical design.
• Managing time within the brand calendar.
• Following up on pre-production details.
• Taking ownership of projects and streamlining processes.
• Creating and presenting design ideas.

Requirements for this role include:

• 5-7+ years of design experience within the activewear/sport space.
• Skilled hand sketching technique.
• Strong knowledge of the fashion market.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to work on multiple projects.
• Team player and leader.
• Solutions-driven mindset.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• BFA|BA Degree in Fashion Design.
