Job Description

Halcyon, a company focused on providing an adaptive security platform against ransomware, is seeking a Principal Kernel Engineer to enhance their Windows agent's capabilities in preventing, detecting, responding to, and remediating attacks. This role involves driving improvements across various product domains, enhancing customer protection against ransomware threats.Responsibilities include:

• Developing prototypes for new features and transforming them into production-quality code.
• Translating prototyping learnings into functional specifications and project plans.
• Independently driving new features, bug fixes, and performance enhancements.

Requirements include:

• Writing high-quality, multithread-safe code in C++ in both kernel-mode and user-mode.
• Making sound decisions regarding best engineering practices.
• Developing high-quality code in Rust or having a strong desire and capacity to learn quickly.
• Having shipped at least one production-quality driver for Windows NT.
• Possessing a strong knowledge of Win32 APIs and NT kernel internals.
• Debugging memory corruption issues and improving end-to-end system performance.
• Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Being highly collaborative with a strong ability and desire to mentor.
• Having practical professional experience in dealing successfully with ambiguity.
