Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

GlossGenius is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Infrastructure team. This role is focused on empowering developers with the right tools and ensuring the reliability and scalability of GlossGenius' production systems. The engineer will drive internal developer experience and the robustness of the infrastructure that supports the rapidly growing platform.This role can be based remotely in or near the Greater Toronto Area.What this role involves:

• Partnering with Product and Engineering teams to support a reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure platform.
• Ensuring GlossGenius scales its AWS cloud footprint efficiently.
• Building tools to help engineers quickly identify problems across the stack.
• Shaping incident management practices and drive operational excellence.
• Enhancing monitoring and alerting capabilities.
• Championing DevOps principles across the company.
• Optimizing application performance and encouraging resilient, scalable system architecture.
• Taking ownership of complex problems from inception to resolution.

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years of experience working with cloud technologies.
• Demonstrated experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) in production.
• Demonstrated experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform, Terraform CDK, or AWS CDK.
• Solid understanding of IP networking, DNS, CDN, load balancing, HTTP, and firewalls.
• Experience building and maintaining monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for large-scale, 24/7 platforms.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes (i.e. AWS EKS, GCP GKE).
• The ability to write high-quality code in a high-level programming language such as Go, Typescript, Python, Kotlin, Java, or Ruby.
• Demonstrated ability to drive projects from concept to completion.
