Factory Leader

Job Description

Jonsson Manufacturing is seeking a Factory Leader to oversee its Lesotho-based factory. The Factory Leader will lead the factory team to ensure the factory runs smoothly and efficiently, meeting targets in a timely manner, while maintaining high-quality standards. The Factory Leader is accountable for leading a team based in the factory to make sure that it meets the specified targets.

Responsibilities include:

• Guiding and motivating the factory team to reach efficiency targets to achieve OTIF (On Time In Full).
• Analyzing production data and identifying and resolving any production issues that may arise.
• Connecting regularly with Line Managers, Team Leaders, and relevant support functions to review and plan for production requirements, ensuring production dates are met.
• Maintaining an uncompromising approach to quality, ensuring standards are brilliantly met across all production processes.
• Up-skill and coordinate training on an ongoing basis.
• Overseeing all maintenance and service requirements for all equipment and factory machinery.
• Practicing and maintaining safe working procedures at all times, whilst ensuring good housekeeping and cleanliness.

Requirements include:

• Related tertiary qualification in Production Management.
• Sound working knowledge of technical garment construction and line balancing; with strong work-study background preferred.
• Extensive clothing manufacturing experience.
• Experience in Total Quality Management (TQM) in the clothing manufacturing industry.
• Results driven and proactive with an approach of continuous improvement through root cause analysis.
• Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analyses and problem solving in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• The ability to identify, develop and implement permanent solutions through collaboration with multi-disciplinary task teams.
• Computer literate in MS Office and MS Excel.
• Fluent in spoken and written English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Own reliable transport.
• Valid passport.
