Senior iOS Software Engineer, Reddit Chat

Job Description

Reddit is seeking a Senior iOS Software Engineer to join their Chat team in Dublin, Ireland. This role involves building innovative solutions for millions of Reddit users worldwide, focusing on creating a real-time, casual chat experience within the Reddit community. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to execute product and business strategies.Reddit values a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and seeks an engineer who is opinionated, open to user feedback, and committed to delivering a quality product. The Senior iOS Engineer will have the opportunity to contribute to product and business strategy, tackle technical challenges, and collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and business analysts.Responsibilities:

• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts.
• Communicate effectively within the team and across disciplines.
• Craft compelling user experiences for iOS.
• Contribute meaningfully to the team’s strategy.
• Participate in product reviews and team meetings.
• Help scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs.
• Foster a healthy engineering culture and collaborate with other engineers.
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of chat features.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent technical expertise.
• 5+ years of hands-on, professional software development experience developing user-facing iOS native applications at scale, using Swift.
• Strategic thinker with a passion for developing scalable, well-designed software.
• Track record of leading large iOS projects that require cross-team and cross-functional collaborations.
• Experience with modern iOS development frameworks and patterns such as SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, and Concurrency.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a bias towards action in fast-paced environments.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver great user experiences on the iOS platform.
