Reddit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their ML Understanding team. This role is pivotal in developing AI solutions for understanding, generating, and analyzing text, as well as maintaining systems that deliver content insights across Reddit. The position is remote within the United Kingdom, promoting a flexible work environment.
The Staff Software Engineer will play a crucial role in:
- Leading the design, development, and maintenance of backend and data infrastructure for AI/ML systems.
- Architecting scalable AI/ML solutions to handle data growth and support increasing access needs.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to consolidate insights about Reddit's data on a unified platform.
- Overseeing data storage, retrieval, indexing, and query optimization.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
- Identifying technical challenges and proposing innovative solutions.
Reddit requires that candidates possess the following:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience in natural language processing and AI model integration.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers).
- Expertise in distributed training frameworks and hardware resource utilization.
- Proficiency in data preprocessing, tokenization, embeddings, and language modeling techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
