Senior Software Engineer, Product Security

Job Description

Reddit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Product Security to ensure the security and integrity of its systems and data. The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners, identifying security risks, developing mitigation strategies, and driving security features in Reddit's products. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, business acumen, and exceptional communication skills.Reddit is a community-driven platform with over 100,000 active communities and approximately 101M+ daily active unique visitors.Responsibilities:

• Engage in peer programming related to security and privacy components.
• Conduct security architecture reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations on security requirements.
• Act as a liaison between infrastructure and development teams.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as a primary point of contact for security-related inquiries.
• Conduct threat modeling assessments.
• Identify and evaluate potential security vulnerabilities.
• Promote security awareness and best practices.
• Participate in security incident response activities.

Requirements:

• Deep experience with Golang programming languages.
• Familiarity with DevOps technologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in security partnerships, information security, or a related role.
• Strong understanding of security principles, best practices, and industry standards.
• Experience with threat modeling, security risk assessment, and mitigation techniques.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, GCP), infrastructure components (Redis, Postgres, Cassandra), and distributed systems design.
• Experience with vendor security assessments.
• Experience with security compliance.
