Job Description

IONOS, a leading European provider of cloud infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join their Managed Kubernetes team in Berlin. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the Managed Kubernetes product, serving both internal teams and external customers.

This role requires significant experience with Kubernetes architecture and a strong focus on operational aspects aligned with CKA principles. The Senior Software Developer will contribute to the evolution of IONOS's service architecture and infrastructure as code practices.

Role Involves:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native applications in Golang.
  • Architecting and implementing new features to enhance the Managed Kubernetes offering.
  • Developing and maintaining the complete DevOps toolchain.
  • Creating and maintaining Kubernetes operators, controllers, and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs).
  • Implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for Kubernetes workloads.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve platform reliability and performance.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Golang development.
  • Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) or private cloud infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, API resources, and extension patterns.
  • Proficiency with Helm and other Kubernetes package management tools.
  • Experience designing and implementing Kubernetes operators and controllers.
  • Expertise in container orchestration, networking, and security principles.
  • Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, etc.) for monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced Linux system administration skills.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
