Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d) GoLang at IONOS EN

IONOS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support its Cloud team. This role is crucial for building, advancing, and refining cloud solutions, ensuring they are robust and scalable. The engineer will work until May 2026, covering a parental leave.

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Go applications tailored to cloud functionalities. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement features that improve the scalability and performance of the IONOS Cloud. They will ensure the production-readiness of services and operate them in a high-availability production environment.

Additionally, they will offer technical guidance and thought leadership, fostering continuous improvement and innovation. The Senior Software Engineer will evaluate and incorporate new technologies to improve service reliability and delivery speed.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-quality, maintainable, and robust Go applications for cloud functionalities.
• Spearhead all phases of the software development cycle for cloud-based solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the scalability and performance of the IONOS Cloud.
• Ensure production-readiness of services with high availability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Evaluate and incorporate new technologies to improve service reliability.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional programming experience, with a strong background in Java-based backend development and at least 3 years dedicated to Go (Golang).
• Strong background in developing and maintaining cloud services, with proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Profound knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker, along with microservices architecture.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, especially in an Agile environment.
