Site Reliability Engineer (f/m/d) - DNS and Infrastructure

Job Description

IONOS, a leading European provider of cloud infrastructure, seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Infrastructure Experts team. The ideal candidate will be involved in planning, implementing, migrating, and operating critical DNS, DHCP, NTP, and IP Management Services. He/she will collaborate closely with system administrators and network engineers.

The role involves:

• Designing, developing, and operating high-available services on Linux.
• Taking ownership of the full stack, from hardware to application.
• Contributing to open-source projects like DIM and monzero.
• Supporting system administrators in automating tasks and rollouts.
• Participating in an on-call service rotation.

Requirements include:

• A degree in Computer Science or comparable education with a strong interest in infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience administering complex services on Linux, with expertise in infrastructure as code and automation.
• Experience in system-near development of highly available software artifacts using languages like Go, Python, Bash, and Java.
• Practical experience operating DNS, NTP, DHCP, and IP-Management.
• Familiarity with Puppet or other configuration management systems, and experience with Observability Stacks.
• Passion for Open Source, especially Linux, and excellent English communication skills. German is a plus.
