IONOS is seeking a Team Lead (f/m/d) - Site Reliability Engineer/GoLang to join their team in Berlin. The ideal candidate will lead a team focused on managing and monitoring IONOS Cloud, a complex system comprising numerous interacting software components. This role requires a blend of people management skills and a strong technical background, particularly with Kubernetes operators and cloud-native tools such as ArgoCD, OpenBAO, and Prometheus.
The Team Lead will guide the team in improving tooling and automation, building new tools, and providing support to other teams, fostering a self-healing system controlled by GitOps. This involves working closely with Customer Service, Product Developers, and Operations teams, supporting containerisation, immutable infrastructure, and idempotent interfaces.
Role involves:
- Recruiting, hiring, and coaching a team of 5 engineers.
- Talent development and personnel management.
- Development management for internal tooling.
- Serving as a product owner or maintainer for internal tools.
- Participating in overall architecture discussions.
- Managing incidents, conducting operations, and handling change management.
- Ensuring smooth operation of multiple platforms.
- Unifying and optimizing platforms and processes.
Requirements:
- Agile mindset and experience with modern software development methods.
- Management experience in software development and IT platform operations.
- Sound knowledge of software development, preferably with GoLang.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud environments and Kubernetes.
- Experience in operating IT platforms based on Linux and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in both English and German (C1+ level).
