Software Engineer Manager at IONOS EN

IONOS, a leading European provider of cloud infrastructure, is seeking a Software Engineer Manager in Cebu. This role involves leading the technical design and development of the IONOS GPT product, building and managing an agile development team, and collaborating with stakeholders to align development efforts with business goals. The Software Engineer Manager will develop and maintain robust frontend solutions, integrate with backend services, write high-quality code, and implement technical architecture for AI-powered web applications.

Responsibilities Include:

• Leading technical design and development of the IONOS GPT product.
• Building and managing a small, agile development team.
• Collaborating with UX designers, Product Owners, and QA teams.
• Developing, optimizing, and maintaining frontend solutions using modern frameworks.
• Integrating with and optimizing backend services/APIs.
• Writing high-quality, testable code and establishing best practices.
• Planning and implementing technical architecture for AI-powered web applications.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record as a senior developer or lead developer with mentoring experience.
• 5–10 years of experience in a related field, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Expertise in frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript) and modern frameworks such as React or Svelte.
• Strong backend knowledge – familiarity with Node.js, container technologies like Podman/Kubernetes, and API integration.
• Experience working with or integrating LLMs and embedding models.
• Familiarity with vector databases and crafting workflows for AI-powered applications.
• Solid experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design robust technical solutions.
