Staff Platform Engineer - Remote

Job Description

Aktos, a seed-stage Vertical SaaS Fintech startup, is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer. This role involves 80% Backend Engineering and 20% DevOps/SRE responsibilities, contributing to the operating system that powers the Credit Collections industry. The company's mission is to modernize the software platform for collectors, enhancing the credit recovery process for all parties. The team comprises seasoned product and engineering leaders from top companies, ensuring a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:

• Maintaining AWS infrastructure.
• Developing scalable and maintainable backend features using Python.
• Creating scalable and maintainable API/SFTP integrations.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Postgres DB.
• Maintaining developer environments.
• Managing CI pipelines and runners.
• Setting up and managing alerting systems.
• Providing on-call support and guidance to other developers.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of professional SRE/DevOps experience.
• Experience maintaining/enhancing Kubernetes cluster via IaaC.
• Professional experience with Python (2+ years required).
• Strong understanding of a RDBMS (Postgres preferred).
• In-depth knowledge and experience with AWS.
• Solid engineering fundamentals and passion for high-quality code.
• Product intuition and user empathy.
• Strong work ethic and ownership mentality.
