Software Engineer (Security) (m/f/x) at CLARK

CLARK, a leading insurtech company, is seeking a Software Engineer (Security) to ensure the security and integrity of its web applications. This role involves PHP and Vue.js development with a focus on cybersecurity practices.

The Software Engineer will work closely with security and development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) as well as educating other team members on secure coding practices and emerging security threats.

The role involves:

• Developing secure backend systems using PHP, mitigating risks like SQL injection and XSS.
• Ensuring frontend security using Vue.js, implementing input validation and secure routing.
• Designing secure RESTful APIs with encryption and authentication best practices.
• Conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on PHP and Vue.js applications.
• Automating threat detection processes.
• Staying updated with the latest security patches for PHP, Vue.js, and associated libraries/frameworks.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in software development with a focus on security
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Strong expertise in PHP and frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or Zend
• Proficiency in Vue.js and its ecosystem (Vuex, Vue Router, etc.)
• In-depth understanding of common web application vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and secure coding practices
• Experience with penetration testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP) and static/dynamic code analysis
• Knowledge of the most current IT risks e.g. understanding of security protocols, authentication, and authorization
