Ocado Solutions offers the Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) to retailers worldwide. The Solutions Development Manager represents OSP throughout the pre-sales process, clarifying retailer requirements and costing potential solutions.

What the role involves:

  • Leading client engagement activities, including presentations and site tours.
  • Delivering the full pre-sales methodology from initial contact to contract signing.
  • Writing, updating, and negotiating key legal contractual documents.
  • Leading discussions to explain the benefits of OSP.
  • Collaborating with Technology & Marketing on new concepts and pricing.
  • Building knowledge of competitors and Ocado's market position.
  • Creating clear content for senior stakeholders to obtain project sign-off.
  • Gathering and clarifying prospect requirements, representing capability gaps to internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding client-specific business metrics and their impact on choosing the right OSP solution.
  • Developing and improving models/tools for costing and CFC sizing.
  • Leading continuous improvement projects.

Requirements:

  • Client-facing experience with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine interest in Ocado's products and retail challenges.
  • Strong presentation skills to describe complex solutions.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and achieve specific outcomes.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical subjects to various audiences.
  • Experience conversing with retailers at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel globally at short notice.
  • Knowledge and experience of Retail (preferably Grocery).
  • Experience working for technology companies.
