PLOS, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing open science, is seeking a Regional Sales Director for the Americas. This role is pivotal in developing and executing new business and retention strategies across North, Central, and South America. The Regional Sales Director will focus on expanding the adoption of PLOS’s institutional business models to foster an equitable open research environment. This is a fully remote position within the US.
Responsibilities: - Develop strategic opportunity map and sales plan.
- Collaborate with Global Publishing Development and Marketing teams.
- Identify market trends and maintain knowledge of scholarly publishing and Open Science.
- Provide thought leadership on regional market opportunities.
- Achieve sales targets and manage customer proposals.
- Prepare sales forecasts and growth plans.
- Contribute to the development of PLOS’s business models.
- Manage budgets for sales activities.
- Grow PLOS’s library and consortia network.
- Direct activities of PLOS’s partner sales agents.
- Represent PLOS at key meetings and events.
- Provide customer and market feedback.
Requirements: - Domain knowledge in the Academic market.
- Proven influencing and consultative selling skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strategic thinking and implementation abilities.
- Organizational skills for resource and budget management.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in science, technical, and medical (STM) publishing.
PLOS Offers: - Competitive base salary range of $130,000 - $170,000.
