PLOS, a non-profit organization dedicated to open science, is seeking an Associate Peer Review Operations Specialist. This is a fully remote, 12-month fixed-term contract based in the UK. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient peer review workflows, ensuring high vendor performance, and upholding excellent contributor experience.
Responsibilities include: - Ensuring timely and efficient peer review of submissions.
- Addressing and resolving queries from vendors and colleagues.
- Identifying and removing barriers to submission.
- Proactively identifying workflow inefficiencies.
- Maintaining standard journal workflows.
- Contributing to workflow projects.
- Monitoring vendor performance.
Requirements: - Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Growth mindset and team player mentality.
- Ability to maintain a positive customer service attitude.
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, and file conversions.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- A university degree or equivalent experience.
