PLOS is seeking an Associate Peer Review Operations Specialist to join their team. This fully remote position is available for candidates based in the UK and select US states. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized self-starter with excellent communication skills, motivated by continuous improvement.
The Associate Peer Review Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient peer review workflows, ensuring high vendor performance standards, and upholding excellent contributor experience for authors, editors, and reviewers.
Role involves:
- Ensuring the timely, efficient peer review of all submissions.
- Addressing and resolving queries or concerns escalated by vendors or PLOS colleagues.
- Identifying and removing barriers to submission.
- Proactively identifying workflow inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving problems.
- Growth mindset with a collaborative, team player mentality.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional customer service attitude.
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, file types, and file conversions.

- A university degree or equivalent experience.
