Kunumi is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead data science teams in complex projects. The candidate will be responsible for guiding and mentoring team members, proposing strategies to improve data science processes, and leading research and development efforts to promote innovation. They will also facilitate communication between different areas and leverage the potential of multidisciplinary teams. The Senior Data Scientist will be involved in collecting, processing, and analyzing large volumes of structured and unstructured data to identify patterns and trends, develop AI models (preferably in Python), and implement machine learning algorithms.

Responsibilities:

• Leading data science teams in complex projects, providing guidance and mentoring.
• Proposing and implementing strategies to improve data science processes and practices.
• Leading and coordinating research and development efforts to promote innovation.
• Facilitating communication between different areas and leveraging the potential of multidisciplinary teams.
• Collecting, processing, and analyzing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Identifying patterns and trends in datasets to provide actionable insights.
• Developing models using AI techniques (preferably in Python).
• Developing in a Linux environment.
• Designing, building, and testing machine learning and AI models.
• Implementing supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms.
• Optimizing models to improve performance and efficiency.
• Deciding when a model is ready for production deployment and how to monitor it.
• Encapsulating models in easy-to-use, robust, and well-documented APIs.
• Working with clients and partners to gather technical requirements, specify the most appropriate AI model architecture, identify limitations of existing methods, and present results.
• Creating visualizations that elucidate decisions and quality.
• Participating in research projects to develop new approaches and innovative solutions.
• Using open-source tools and libraries developed by the community and Kunumi.
• Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including software engineers, developers, and researchers.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data science and AI.

Requirements:

• Solid experience with technical leadership.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn).
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
• Familiarity with big data and data storage technologies (Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL).
• Experience in applying statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to solve real-world problems.
