Job Description

The Weather Company is seeking a Senior Manager, Social Media Manager to drive business results for The Weather Channel properties. The role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy, managing communication for severe weather events, and overseeing the creation of engaging content. The Senior Manager will monitor social media performance, engage with followers, and experiment with new strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy.
• Partner with editorial on content strategy.
• Manage communication on social media for severe weather.
• Identify target audiences and create engagement strategies.
• Oversee the creation of high-quality, engaging content.
• Maintain a content calendar and schedule posts.
• Plan, execute, and manage social media posts for weather forecasts
• Oversee social media team experiments and pivot based on learnings.
• Monitor social media content performance.
• Manage and optimize social media reporting and campaign management tools.
• Monitor how the social platforms are performing against KPIs.
• Engage with followers and foster a sense of community.
• Monitor social media channels for brand mentions.
• Experiment with new social media strategies and platforms.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in social media management.
• Understanding of social media platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in social media management and analytics tools.
• Experience with social media advertising and paid campaign management.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
