Apera AI, an innovative startup specializing in robotics, AI, and machine vision technologies, is seeking a Field Application Engineer to play a crucial role in enabling customers to achieve success with their AI-driven robotic vision systems. The Field Application Engineer will work directly with customers during system on-boardings, leading installation, setup, and commissioning to ensure seamless integration into their manufacturing processes. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Customer Success Managers, and Onboarding Project Managers.
- Preparing for new robotic vision system on-boardings.
- Leading customers through the installation, setup, testing, and commissioning of robotic vision systems.
- Delivering on-the-job training to customers.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting services both onsite and remotely.
- Monitoring system performance during initial production runs.
- Documenting and maintaining detailed customer records.
- Collaborating with Sales to assess the feasibility of potential applications.
- Partnering with CSMs and Onboarding Project Managers to support and expand Apera’s customer base.
- Driving continuous improvement by reducing the time and effort required for system installation and commissioning.
- Contributing to the design of robotic work cells.
- Providing actionable feedback to the engineering team.
- Ensuring that all business activities are conducted with the highest ethical standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field or a technologist diploma with equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in automation, mechatronics, controls, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proven working knowledge of robotics, machine controls, automation principles, and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic prints and related technical documentation.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
